Who's job is it?

This is a story about four people named EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY and NOBODY.

There was an important job to be done and EVERYBODY was asked to do it. Everybody was sure SOMEBODY would do it. ANYBODY could have done it, but NOBODY did it.

SOMEBODY got angry about that because it was EVERYBODY'S job. EVERYBODY thought ANYBODY could do it but NOBODY realized that EVERYBODY wouldn't do it.

It ended up that EVERYBODY blamed SOMEBODY when NOBODY did what ANYBODY could have done!

Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Count Your Blessing

Our visa application for family migration to Australia has been refused -- that was end of September in 2008. My initial reaction on the decision is to pray -- prayer of thanksgiving. It is indeed an answer. God said no... or maybe not yet. Which one Lord?:-) While reading the decision letter in my email, I asked myself, how am i going to tell this to Macky. Oh, God give me the courage and strength. Prepare Macky's heart. When I told him about the decision... he smiled, no trace of regrets! We then started to count and name the many blessings of God.

Sing with me....

We are encouraged. We have hope. God is faitfhul. Early this year (2010), God opened a new door of opportunity. Start a small business.

Sustainability

I received this from our Deputy PRM, a good reminder e.

Life cannot always be balanced, as there are seasons of frantic activity in all walks of life. Yet, a sustainable lifestyle long term is a healthy goal for each of us to aim for.

Below are some thoughts that may be a timely reminder for many of us.
God created time and set the earth in motion giving us 24 hours each day! Time is God's gift to us. When spent wisely, there is ample time for nurturing relationship, fulfilling dreams and experiencing joy.

You know you are over-committed when...
- You cannot get an average of 8 hours rest in a 24 hour day
- You do not have time to sit and eat with your family
- A small interruption is a major problem
- You are too impatient while driving because you are running late
- You forget to pay bills (I must admit that I forget to pay bills regularly ... a result of forgetful genes maybe...)
- You have piles of mail and laundry left undone
- You have no time to sit and chat with your spouse or children
- You cannot recall the last time you sat and relaxed with a friend
- You lost something due to lack of time to put it in it's proper place (I realise some of us regularly lose things, no matter how relaxed we are!)
- You feel like life has no joy

We cannot create more minutes or days. Therefore we are accountable to our Heavenly Father in the wise use of what he has given us. Too much promised for the hours over-commits the time.

May He give you the wisdom to live sustainably for His glory in the situation He has placed you.

To update myself, I've been to 129.1 islands na yehey! more island hopping to go...Lord willing.

Anything and Everything

I’ll give you a verse in the Bible that covers anything and everything that will happen to you today. You'll find it in Philippians 4:6. The first part says, "Don't worry about anything" (Living Bible). Now, that sounds simple to do-but only until something major strikes at the center of what you care most about. It could be the business you just started, or much more serious, your mate or one of your children. Then you find yourself thinking about the problem non-stop.

How can God tell you not to worry about anything when what you really care most about is falling apart? Well, the verse doesn’t stop there. God goes on to say, “Instead, pray about everything." Prayer is the antidote God gives for worry. The big question is, "Have you tried It?” Today, every time that worry pops in your mind, immediately turn it into a prayer for God's help. Our human tendency is to think that our worry is either too small to bother God about or too big for us to expect Him fix. But nothing is too large or too small for God. That’s why He tells us to pray about everything-yes, every worry that comes to mind.
The biggest problem most of us have with prayer is giving up too soon. We think that once we have prayed about a problem, that should take care of it. But it doesn't work that way. Remember, we need to pray every time we worry-and that can be pretty often on any day. God urge us to turn every worried thought into a prayer.

Wanted: Patience!

Are you patient?
...I chose to be patient many times...

Last Saturday, my Boy Friend Forever Macky teach me how to drive. While on the way to our training ground, he assured me it's easy - the same principle as I drive a tricycle. At first he is mellow to speak. Clutch-primera. Gas. Preno. Clutch-reverse.... After few minutes, he started yelling. STOP!... ANO BA YAN!... LOOK INFRONT OF YOU NOT TO THE GEAR!... TURN RIGHT! BRAKE! + scratching his head!... I kept silent and continue to obey even if I was punched by unkind & impatient chain of commands.

When we got home, I asked him. What if I am still your girlfriend, will you shout at me?
He burst out laughing.

Bill McGlashen said, patience is something you admire in the driver behind you, but not in one ahead. Barbara Johnson said, patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.

Do you know one person who is sickly impatient? Ouch!
We need God's Rx - a pill of patience many times a day or in any particular situation in our family, work, ministry, and heart's desires.
God's word in Proverbs 14:29 says, A PATIENT man has great understanding.

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit that should be seen in us e.

Prayer:
Lord please give me the patience to listen, the courage to speak, the honor to follow, and the wisdom to lead. -- Author Unknown

The Climb

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on,

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

Happy New Year!

FIVE SIMPLE RULES TO BE HAPPY:

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.

2. Free your mind from worries.

3. Live simply.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less.

No one can go back and make a brand new start.
Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. God didn't promise
days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did
promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the
way.

Disappointments are like road humps, they slow you down a bit, but you
enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Don't stay on the humps too long. Move
on!

When you feel down because you didn't get what you want, just sit tight
and be happy, because God is thinking of something better to give you.

When something happens to you, good or bad, consider what it means.
There's a purpose to life's events, to teach you how to laugh more, or not
to cry too hard.

You can't make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be
loved. The rest is up to the person to realize your worth.

The measure of your love is when you love without measure.

In life there are very rare chances that you'll meet the person you love and who loves you in return. So once you have it, don't ever let go; the chance might never come your way again.

It's better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.

We spend too much time looking for the right person to love, or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give.

When you truly care for someone, you don't look for faults, you don't look for answers, you don't look for mistakes. Instead, you fight the mistakes, you accept the faults, and you overlook the excuses.

Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one who can take his place. Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

Encourage others with a demonstration of your love for them.

Have a terrific year!
