Manila Ocean Park

On Saturday, March 1, 2008 we visited Manila Ocean Park, behind Quirino Grandstand. The first world-class themed park to adopt a fusion concept – bringing together in one complex an Oceanarium, a mall, a restaurant row, boutique hotel, open water marine habitats and multi-purpose function facilities.
We didn't know that last Saturday was the grand opening for public viewing...kaya pala dami tao e.
I (Ila), Diam and mommy Ching enjoyed the Oceanarium!…while Macky is enjoying the bukid sa probinsiya :-) The Oceanarium is the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines. You can experience a wide variety of species, such as sharks, fishes and invertibrates indigenous to the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Our two hours journey begin in AGOS (Flow) – features a rainforest-theme with eight tanks containing freshwater species.

After AGOS is BAHURA (Reef) – features some of the most fascinating creatures in the Philippine coral reefs. Diam was able to meet face to face the characters of “Finding Nemo”, one of his favorite movies na siguro ay more than 20x na niyang napanood - hindi naman niya masayadong favorite yata ano!? He shouted, “hi Nemo, hi Dory!”

Next, in LAOT (Fishing Ground) – a wide array of fish in the deeper waters of the sea.

Then, BUHAY NA KARAGATAN (The Living Ocean) – we walk through a 25-meter long tunnel that showcases various marine animals and how they interact with each other.

ANG KALALIMAN (The Deep) – features different kinds of schooling fish. Siyempre, karamihan sa mga isda feel safer in groups like the barracudas.

STINGRAY (Pagi). Diam still remembered, "hello Mr. Ray" – he is Nemo’s teacher.

Finally, in the SHARK Tank. Sharks behave and interact with one another. They are called the “Masters of the Seven Senses.”

Pero ang masasabi ko, sulit naman ang 400 pesos entrance for adults & 350 for children below 4ft height.
That night, before we sleep, Diam is singing
"Who made the fish?
Who made the fish?
God made the fish that swim
God made the fish!”
